About Liberty Mutual Insurance

Liberty Mutual is one of the largest car insurance providers in Nevada. Our office routinely handles accident liability claims that involve Liberty Mutual insurance.

Below is the list of the most common questions our clients ask us about this insurance company.

How long should I wait to receive a compensation offer from Liberty Mutual?

After the insurance company receives a complete demand packet from the law firm, they must respond within a reasonable time. In Nevada, a reasonable time is considered 30 days.

How long does it take to get a settlement check from Liberty Mutual Insurance in Nevada?

Settlement checks can take days or even weeks to arrive. It's best to ask for a tracking number rather than having the insurance reissue a check. The late check will often come in the mail before the backup check is issued.

Should I give Liberty Mutual Insurance a recorded statement?

You only have to give an insurance company a recorded statement if the insurance company is your insurance. Then, you are contractually obligated to cooperate with them. If the insurance company does not represent you, you should seek an attorney's advice first.

What do Liberty Mutual car insurance adjusters look for?

The primary function of any adjuster is to "adjust" claims downward to save money for their insurance company. Adjusters attempt to determine the value of a given claim and see if they can settle the claim for less. Sometimes, an insurance adjuster's offer is fair because it saves time and money by ending the claim. Other times, an adjuster's offer is unreasonably low.

A claim will have more value to an adjuster when the injured person can explain in detail what they have lost from their lives.

Does Liberty Mutual cover car rentals?

Yes. The Liberty Mutual claim process is the same for rental cars as for your vehicle. You need to know that your policy covers only accidents in the US. If you travel abroad, you need to buy separate insurance.

How do you maximize a settlement with Liberty Mutual?

First, keep accurate records of your medical expenses, car repairs, and lost wages.

Second, take many photos of your damaged vehicle and injuries after the car crash.

Third, don't accept the first offer.

Can I re-open an old claim with Liberty Mutual?

You can after October 1, 2019, when NRS 10.185 went into effect in Nevada.

Under the new Nevada law, the personal injury victim can take back a prior agreement with the insurance company and re-open the case. This law applies if you, without an attorney's aid, signed the release within 30 days of the accident. Also, within 60 days of the accident, the victim or their attorney must tell the insurance company, in writing, that they want to void the release and return the money within 10 days of their writing. Call our office if you have any questions or plan to re-open the old claim.
